The Senior Water Engineer (SE) leads the technical delivery of Water (Drainage/Sewerage/Potable Water/Irrigation/Flood Risk) projects and assists with management of the Water team within the Mouchel Middle East Design Centre.
The role is based in Abu Dhabi and will involve travel to ensure successful delivery of the role. The potential travel locations include, but are not limited to, UAE, KSA, UK and India.
The SE will provide technical guidance and management to ensure that project outcomes meet the required technical standards and project deliverables in accordance with agreed budgetary, programme and delivery requirements.
The SE is responsible as a technical lead for consistency, quality and technical excellence across Water projects whilst ensuring innovation and efficiency by developing and sharing best practice; ensuring that excellent technical standards are employed in the design, documentation and supervision of project work.
The SE will also be required to act as the Design Manager for multi-disciplinary projects, liaising with Project Managers and other discipline leads to ensure successful project delivery and completion within agreed timescales and budgets.
Ensure projects undertaken in line with Mouchel policy on all SHEQ matters.
Lead the successful Technical and Financial delivery of Water design elements of projects.
Lead delivery of high quality projects, demonstrating continuous improvement, to the measurable satisfaction of clients.
Contribute to innovation and efficiency across the Water team.
Demonstrate leadership, management, motivation and development of staff to improve their performance and achieve their potential.
Support the business planning, financial control and commercial/risk management as required.
Assist with accurate resource planning and allocation to ensure adequate resources are available for the completion of Water projects.
Support ongoing forecasting of planned and actual costs and utilisation.
Provide professional and technical guidance and coaching to all staff, and encourage progression towards professional qualifications eg CEng, IEng etc.
A degree in a relevant discipline eg Civil Engineering. Or demonstrable experience
Sound knowledge and understanding of water engineering design standards and the application of hydraulics in developing design solutions.
Proven track record in the delivery of water engineering and multi-disciplinary design projects from a design perspective.
Middle East experience is desirable.
Demonstrated report writing skills of a high caliber.
Good presentation, verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work on own initiative on technical matters.
Understanding of water design standards DMRB, ASHTO etc.
Experience of hydraulic modelling software essential eg StormCad / Sewer / Cad / WaterCad / Epanet / MicroDrainage etc.
Experience of AutoCAD essential.
Experience of Civil 3D desirable.
Experience of MS Office essentia.
